Snow White in The Wolf Among Us: Bigby's Partner

Snow White's role in Fabletown, how her trust works, which choices raise or lower it, and why she is the game's real moral compass.

Snow White

Snow White is Fabletown's deputy mayor, Bigby's handler and the closest thing The Wolf Among Us has to a moral compass. She is not a princess in distress; she is the person who decides whether the sheriff keeps his badge, and she does it while running a government that is slowly falling apart.

Erin Yvette voices her with a controlled warmth that makes her approval feel earned and her disappointment feel worse than any threat in the game. The remaster keeps the performance intact and gives her a sharper model — in the rebuilt close-ups, her expressions carry scenes that the 2013 version left to the dialogue.

Role in the story

Snow is the deputy mayor under Ichabod Crane, which in practice means she runs Fabletown while Crane hides from his own corruption. She assigns Bigby the Faith case, works the investigation alongside him, and becomes acting mayor when Crane's conduct becomes untenable.

Her function in the narrative is to represent the institution. She believes the law can protect fables who cannot protect themselves, and she needs Bigby to be the kind of sheriff who proves her right. That is why her trust matters more than any other character's opinion: she is the argument for civilisation in a story about monsters.

How her trust works

The game does not show a meter, but several choices move her opinion of you:

Choice Effect
Persuading Dee instead of threatening him Raises trust
Bringing her into the Trip Trap Raises trust, changes the scene
Accusing Crane in the car Lowers trust
Beating Beast unconscious Lowers trust
Killing the Crooked Man at the warehouse Sharply lowers trust in the finale

The pattern is consistent: she rewards restraint and process, and punishes decisions that make Bigby look like the wolf. That is not the same as rewarding weakness — she is fine with force when it is necessary, and she says so.

She is not a morality meter

Snow disagrees with Bigby for reasons that are political as well as ethical. Her approval tracks whether he makes Fabletown's institutions look legitimate, not whether he is a good person.

Her arc

Snow's arc across the season is the best-written political thread in a Telltale game. She starts as a deputy managing a crisis, discovers that her boss is compromised, and ends up making decisions that require her to become the thing she has been defending: the person who decides what Fabletown does with a monster.

The finale is where that lands. If you bring the Crooked Man back, she presides over the judgement; if you kill him, she has to decide what to do with a sheriff who has just made her government irrelevant. Either way, her reaction is the season's real verdict.

Snow and Bigby

The relationship is the game's emotional spine. It is written as a partnership first and a romance second: they work cases together, argue about methods, and rely on each other in ways neither admits.

The remaster does not add new scenes between them, so the dynamic is exactly as it was in 2013. What the new lighting does is make the quiet moments read more clearly — a look across the office, a pause before a reply — and those are the scenes that carry the relationship.

Depending on your choices, the epilogue is warmer or colder, but the game never turns the relationship into a reward for correct play. It is a consequence of how you treated her, not a prize.

Why she matters to the case

Snow is the reason the investigation has stakes beyond catching a killer. Fabletown's legitimacy is on the line: if the sheriff can be replaced by a mob, the community's pretence of law collapses, and the fables who cannot pass for human have nothing left.

That is also why the Crooked Man's operation is a political problem, not just a criminal one. He is not challenging the law; he is using it, and Snow knows it.

Snow in the remaster

The rebuilt model and lighting are the main changes. Her white suit, which read as a flat block of colour in 2013, now has fabric detail and shadow, and her expressions in the trial scene are noticeably more legible.

Noir Mode is a mixed fit for her. The black-and-white presentation makes her the brightest thing on screen in most scenes, which suits the character, but it also flattens the colour contrast that made her stand out against Fabletown's browns and reds.

Snow in The Wolf Among Us 2

The sequel will read the first game's choices, and Snow's position is one of the most likely threads to carry forward. Whether she is still deputy mayor, acting mayor or something else depends on how the finale resolved, and Telltale has not said how much of that state the sequel will use.
