The Wolf Among Us Remastered Episode List

The remaster contains five episodes, played in a fixed order. There is no DLC, no season pass and no side story — the 2026 release bundles the complete 2013 season plus bonus content that sits outside the episode flow.

# Episode Length Case focus
1 Faith 90–105 min The murder that starts everything
2 Smoke and Mirrors 90–110 min The investigation widens
3 A Crooked Mile 100–120 min The suspect list collapses
4 In Sheep's Clothing 90–110 min The trap
5 Cry Wolf 100–120 min The judgement

The order is not selectable on a first run. You unlock each episode by finishing the one before, and chapter select only becomes available for episodes you have completed.

Episode 1: Faith

Premise: Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, is called to a disturbance at the Woodlands and finds a young woman's severed head on his doorstep. The victim is Faith, a fable who was trying to leave her old life behind. The episode is a murder investigation, but its real job is to teach you how the game works: examine the environment, read the characters, and choose whether Bigby is a cop or a wolf.

What it establishes: the Fabletown setting, the relationship between Bigby and Snow White, the Crooked Man's name in the background, and the rules of the choice system. Most of the major cast appears or is mentioned.

Key decisions: how to handle the Woodsman, whether to arrest him or Tweedledee, how to question Toad, and whether to take money from Georgie's safe. None of these change the plot's direction, but they colour how characters treat you later.

Episode 2: Smoke and Mirrors

Premise: The investigation moves to a second victim and a connected disappearance at the Puddin' n Pie club. Bigby has to work a case in a place where he is hated, and the episode introduces the Tweedles as an actual threat rather than comic muscle.

What it establishes: the Crooked Man's operation, the glamour trade, and the fact that Fabletown's institutions are compromised. The episode ends with a discovery that reframes the first murder.

Key decisions: whether to accuse Crane in the car, how to interrogate Dee, whether to bring Snow to the Trip Trap, and how hard to push Beast. The interrogation is the most consequential, because it sets Snow's opinion of you for the rest of the season.

Episode 3: A Crooked Mile

Premise: The case splits three ways. Bigby has to choose where to go first — Dee's office, Crane's apartment or the Trip Trap — and the choice determines which scenes you see and which clues you miss.

What it establishes: the Crooked Man's business, the extent of Crane's corruption, and the cost of Bigby's methods. This is the episode where the game's structure becomes visible: you cannot see everything in one run.

Key decisions: the three-way split, whether to burn the magic tree, and whether to kill or spare Dum. The Dum choice is the one people still argue about, because it feeds into the final episode.

The three-way split is not a difficulty choice

All three routes advance the case. The Trip Trap gives the most character material, Crane's apartment gives the most plot, and Dee's office gives the most atmosphere. Pick the one that interests you, not the one that sounds optimal.

Episode 4: In Sheep's Clothing

Premise: The Crooked Man agrees to meet. The episode is a trap on both sides, and it is the shortest on action and the longest on conversation. Everything you have learned about the characters is tested in a single dinner-table scene.

What it establishes: the villain's motive, the fate of the missing fables, and the shape of the finale. It also sets up the Nerissa thread that the ending depends on.

Key decisions: whether to send Colin to the farm, how to handle Nerissa's ribbon, and whether to meet the Crooked Man with force or manners. The last one changes the tone of the confrontation, not its outcome.

Episode 5: Cry Wolf

Premise: The finale. Bigby tracks the Crooked Man to his warehouse, fights through the last of the operation, and has to decide what Fabletown's justice looks like when the law is the thing being judged.

What it establishes: the truth about the murders, the identity of the person who left the heads, and the question the whole season has been building toward — whether Bigby is the monster or the man who stops one.

Key decisions: whether to kill or capture the Crooked Man, what sentence to pass if you capture him, how to deal with Georgie, and what you do in the final scene. These are the choices the sequel is expected to read.

The endings guide covers the outcomes in detail. Do not read it before finishing.

Do the episodes have individual names in the remaster?

Yes, the titles are unchanged from 2013: Faith, Smoke and Mirrors, A Crooked Mile, In Sheep's Clothing and Cry Wolf. The remaster does not rename or reorder them.

Some store pages list the season as "Episode 1–5" without titles. The in-game menu uses the titles, and the chapter select screen groups them the same way.

How long is the full season?

About ten hours, or roughly two hours per episode. The how long to beat page breaks down each episode's length and what adds time.

Is there anything after episode five?

Yes, but not story content. The bonus menu contains over an hour of extras, including five playable deleted scenes, cast interviews, a gallery and behind-the-scenes videos. The deleted scenes are set during the season rather than after it, and they do not change the ending.

The Wolf Among Us 2 is a separate game scheduled for 2027. It is not included in this release and is not a downloadable add-on.
